Manna

For three years the people of Mountain View have been partnering with Culpeper Presbyterian Church to double the effectiveness of Culpeper’s Manna Ministry.

Manna Ministry is a community outreach program that feeds those in need.  Every Monday, we prepare and serve a hot meal for 60 to 100 guests.  We not only feed them physically, but also give spiritual guidance as well.  Since starting this mission, we have expanded to provide a clothing table and employment resource information. We also have Brenda Watkevich from the USDA Food and Nutrition Program who comes in with advise and handouts on food safety and nutrition counseling.    Each guest is given a few food items to take with them as well as a token for transportation if needed.  We are always in need of cash donations as well as food items for our giveaway table.  On special occasions such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter, we need extra donations and help with preparations, as we have over 100 guests attending these meals. We will need hams, cooked and sliced for Easter.

“It is so rewarding watching our guests get fed both physically AND spiritually while interacting with each other.  Some of them will stay for the entire 1 1/2  hour serving time to socialize and sometimes even offer to help clean up.  Manna Ministry is a wonderful local outreach program that I feel honored to be involved in.”  -a Manna Minstry Missionary

Currently Mountain View missionaries gather and serve nearly every Monday throughout the year.  If you would like to join this ministry one Monday, please contact Pat Sanders at office@mountainviewcc.net
