Hope for Appalachia
Due to the hopelessness in Appalachia (Kentucky, West Virginia, and south-western Virginia) there has been a culture created of rampant drug and alcohol abuse, high teenage pregnancy rates, and a rigid cycle of poverty. The unemployment rate is high which causes a great number of the problems we see in these areas. Only hope provided through a relationship with Jesus Christ can change this cycle. And that’s what we intend to do. Share Hope for Appalachia.
The MVCC Hope for Appalachia Missions will be collecting different items each month, then compiling them altogether to make up what we call “Hope Boxes.” Each spring we travel to poverty striken areas to share, not only “Hope Boxes” with children, but the ultimate hope we all have in Jesus Christ.
Donations may be dropped in the blue box at the Kidz View check-in area at MVCC. New items will be collected each month. For more info, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
