Waiting for Christmas

Musicals, decorate, and give gifts to one another rejoicing in a God who “draws near” to His creation in the form of a child. Christmas can be a great time of anticipation and fulfilled expectations. But for many, Christmas stirs up the same feelings one experiences while watching the loading bar image on your computer’s browser slowly load in your favorite webpage. Christmas can be a time of painful waiting and disappointment as another year cycles by full of unfulfilled desires, unmet expectations, and seemingly unanswered prayers. Most see no benefit in waiting, but there may be an even more beautiful gift that awaits those who trust the Lord over the long silent nights. This Christmas, we’ll discover the gift of waiting.
