Rick
I was born and raised in Virginia. I am blessed to have had two very loving Christian parents who raised me in church. My parents were always involved in church, teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, my father was a deacon, and much more. As a family we did usually attend church three times a week. However, I was a wayward child, and it was not until 1985, at the age of 22, that I received salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
In March of 1985, my beautiful young bride, Kristi and I were married. Right away, I realized the need to change my life if I were to remain married and begin to raise a family. Having been raised in church, I knew that I needed Jesus, I just wasn’t sure how to get there. So, we began attending church and I was really searching for the truth about who I was (or was going to be) through Jesus Christ. In July of that same year, we attended an event called “Fishnet” in Front Royal Virginia (Fishnet was the longest running annual Christian festival in the nation during the 34-year duration). To merely say that I got saved at Fishnet seems like such an understatement. I DID receive my salvation and get saved at that event; however, it was so much more. The Lord really changed who I was instantly… and yet also continuously over the rest of my life.
Kristi and I have been blessed with six children, five still living. We have also been blessed with eleven grandchildren, ten still living. I am still learning in the faith (1 Cor. 2:1-5), and I am still growing day by day (Heb. 6:1). The Lord has been full of grace and mercy in my life and has given me the opportunity to have served in several areas of ministry over the years including; nursery worker, royal ranger commander, youth leader, prayer ministry leader, street evangelism, advisory board member, eldership, marriage ministry and MVCC security. I am so profoundly grateful for every opportunity the Lord has seen fit to bless me with to minister and I look forward to many future endeavors in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Psalm 144:1.
